![]() Younger children might have crackers, Goldfish, or Cheerios. ![]() Snacks are sometimes served in our classrooms. Children also develop social skills as they play with other children. When outside, children are developing their large muscles by running, climbing, jumping, and playing. Circle time activities might also include games, music and movement, and hearing quality children’s literature. This is where children gleam information and knowledge about the daily topic. This is the most structured part of the classroom day. The small groups allow the teachers to work on readiness skills and fine motor skills with children individually. Some of the centers are teacher directed and others are not. Work & Center Timeĭuring this time the class is divided into small groups and rotated through various activities. Components might include checking attendance, calendar, weather, Bible Story, morning prayer, and explanation of the day’s activities. Once children are in the classroom, a “Good Morning” routine is followed. In January, younger children can also be dropped off in the carpool line. Parents of younger children will need to park and take your child to their classroom. ![]() Staff and teachers will be available to assist getting your child to their classroom from 8:55-9:10. Greeting & Good Morning TimeĮach morning children in threes, fours, and TK can be dropped off in the carpool line. These skills include taking responsibility for your belongings and actions, obedience, coming under authority, sharing, being respectful, and learning to make wise choices. Woven into the fabric of each preschool day will also be life and character skills, not always noted on the calendar. Each week the children will be introduced to a different theme. A child learns by “doing.” The classrooms (twos and older) will provide these activities, not necessarily in this order. ![]()
